This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, use and disclose Personal Information that you (“you”) provide to us on or through the Story Vision website available at www.storyvision.app, our mobile and/or web-based software platform, and related services owned or operated by us (collectively, the “Services”). When we talk about “Personal Information”, we mean information that we collect or that you provide that may be used to personally identify you.

This policy applies to Personal Information we collect (a) on or through the Services, (b) in email, text, and other electronic messages between you and the Services, (c) through any mobile and desktop applications operated or provided by us, which may provide dedicated non-browser-based interaction between You and the Services and (d) when you interact with our advertising and applications on third-party websites and services, if those applications or advertising include links to this policy. By using the Services, you expressly consent to our collection, storage, management, treatment, use and disclosure of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding Your Personal Information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to use the Services. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. Your continued use of the Services after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check this Privacy Policy periodically for updates. We will post any changes to our Services, or notify you of any material changes by e-mail.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected (1) by us offline or through any other means, including on any other website operated by us or any third party or (2) by any third party, including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link, to or that may be accessible from or on, the Services.

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect Personal Information that you provide when you register with the Services and create a profile. For example, you may connect your Google account when you sign up or login to the Services, and in that way, you may provide us with your name, e-mail address, image and other details listed on your profile there. You may also provide us with your profile photo, location, time-zone, skills, device information, general location, and activity logs and data; as well as your characteristics, preferences and goals for using the Services.

We may also collect Personal Information when you communicate or correspond with other users via the Services, when you fill in forms on the Services, when you conduct search queries on the Services, when you enter a contest or promotion sponsored by us or by a partner of ours, when you obtain customer support or report a problem with the Services, when you respond to surveys that we or a partner of ours might ask you to complete, and when you communicate or correspond with us, whether online or offline. We may also collect other Personal Information about you from third parties, for example, marketing lists provided by our business partners. We may tie this information to information about you that we collect from other sources or you provide to us.

You also may provide information to be published or displayed (“posted”) on public areas of the Services such as publicly available portions of your account profile, or on discussion boards or chat rooms on the Services or those of social networking websites, or to be transmitted to other users of the Services or third parties (collectively, “User Contributions”). By providing us with this information, you consent to us processing it for the purposes of providing you the Services. Your User Contributions are posted on the Services or other websites, and/or transmitted to others, at your own risk. Although we may limit access to certain pages or you may set certain privacy settings for such information by logging into your account profile, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other users of the Services with whom you may choose to communicate or correspond or share User Contributions, including for example in connection with a Coaching Agreement. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that User Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.

When you visit, access or use the Services, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your device or equipment, and your browsing actions and patterns including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, Internet connection, and cookies installed on your device. We may use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to collect data about the use of our Services. Analytics tools collect data such as how often you visit or use our websites or applications, which pages you visit and when, and which website, application, advertisement or electronic message brought you (or referred you) there. We may also collect such information using the following technologies:

  • “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain parts of the Services. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, the Services will issue cookies when you direct your browser to the Services. Please note that we do not alter the Services’ data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal in the HTTP header from your browser or mobile application. However, most browsers do allow you to control cookies, including whether or not to accept cookies and how to remove them. You may set most browsers to notify you if you receive a cookie, or to block or remove cookies altogether.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

The Personal Information that we collect is used to improve the content and quality of our Services, and it is not shared with or sold to other organizations for commercial purposes except as set forth herein. By accessing or using the Services, you agree that we may use your Personal Information for the following purposes:

  • to facilitate, operate, and provide you with access to and use of the Services, as explained more in our Terms;
  • to provide you with information about your Story Vision account or Coaching Agreements;
  • with your consent, to communicate with you regarding new features or services, news, events, new Coaches or services of Coaches that we believe may interest you;
  • to facilitate and optimize our marketing campaigns, advertisement management and sales operations, and to more effectively manage and deliver ads for our Services, including on other applications and websites. These activities allow us to highlight the benefits of our Services, and thus to increase your engagement and overall satisfaction with our Services. This may include behavior, contextual and interests-based ads based on activity, preferences or other data available to us or to our service providers and partners;
  • with your consent, to share your Personal Information with selected third parties, to enable them to contact you about things of potential interest to you;
  • to facilitate, sponsor and offer certain events, contests and promotions;
  • to provide you with customer service and support;
  • to ensure that content is optimally presented;
  • to create aggregated statistical data, inferred non-personal data or anonymized or pseudonymized data (rendered non-personal), which we or our partners may use to provide and improve our respective services, or for any other purpose;
  • to enable us to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person or violations of our Terms;
  • to protect the rights, property or safety of you or others, including other users of the Services, Story Vision employees and representatives, and other third parties; and

We may use the Personal Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize the Services (for example, by generating analytics about how our users browse and interact with the Services). We may also use the foregoing and other Personal Information: (a) to present the Services and its contents to you, (b) to fulfill any other purpose for which you provide such information, (c) to communicate with you, including providing you with notices about your account or the Services, (d) to carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection, (e) to notify you about changes to the Services or any services or products we offer or provide through the Services, (f) to allow you to participate in interactive features on the Services, (g) in any other way we may describe when you provide the information, and (h) for any other purpose with your consent.

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

As described herein, we may share certain Personal Information with third parties to assist us in managing customer information, to assist us in our own marketing efforts, to administer services on our behalf such as credit card processing or delivery services, or to otherwise help us use your Personal Information. For example, we use Stripe to power purchases paid subscriptions to Story Vision, payments of Coaching services fees pursuant to a Coaching Agreement, and payments of Coaching services fee commissions to us. We may de-identify your Personal Information so that you are not identified as an individual, and we may provide that de-identified information to our partners. We may also provide aggregate usage information to our partners (or allow partners to collect that information from you), who may use such information to understand how often and in what ways people use the Services, so that they, too, can provide you with an optimal online experience. However, we never disclose aggregate usage or de-identified information to a partner (or allow a partner to collect such information) in a manner that would identify you as an individual person.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS

We may use selected third parties to perform services complementary to our own. For example, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Services, you do so via the third-party payment platform provided by Stripe, Inc. or its affiliates (“Stripe”). Stripe may collect certain Personal Information from you, including but not limited to your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card, debit card or electronic check information), email address, and phone number. Such third-party service providers may also include hosting and server co-location services, communications and content delivery networks (CDNs), data and cyber security services, fraud detection and prevention services, web analytics, e-mail distribution and monitoring services, session or activity recording services, remote access services, performance measurement, data optimization and marketing services, social and advertising networks, content providers, e-mail, voicemails, support and customer relation management systems, resellers, distributors and providers of professional services related to our Service, and our legal, compliance and financial advisors.

These third-party service providers may have access to your Personal Data, depending on their specific roles and purposes in facilitating and enhancing our Services, and they may only use it for such limited purposes as determined in our agreements with them. When our third-party service providers contact you in order to offer or promote our Services, they may additionally interest you in their own services. If you decide to engage in such activities with any third-party service providers, please note that such engagement is beyond the scope of our Terms and Privacy Policy, and will therefore be covered by our third-party service provider’s terms and privacy policy.

THIRD PARTY WEBSITES AND SERVICES

Our Services may contain content and links to other sites or applications operated by third parties that may also operate cookies, log files, web beacons and/or other tracking technologies. We do not control these third-party sites or tracking technologies, and our Privacy Policy does not apply to them. Please consult the terms and conditions and privacy policies of the relevant third-party sites and services, to find out how they collect and use your information and to establish whether and for what purpose they use cookies or other tracking technologies. Please note that certain third-party providers may be located in, or have facilities located in, a different jurisdiction than either you or us. CHILDREN

The Services are not intended for persons under 13 years of age. No one under age 13 may provide any Personal Information to or on the Services. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from persons under 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on the Services or through any of its features, register on the Services, make any purchases through the Services, use any of the interactive or public comment features of the Services or provide any information about yourself to us, including but not limited to your name, address, telephone number, email address or any screen name or user name you may use. If we learn we have collected or received Personal Information from a person under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. DATA RETENTION

We will retain your information for as long as is necessary to provide you with the Services that you have requested from us; to comply with our legal and contractual obligations; to protect ourselves from any potential disputes (i.e., as required by laws applicable to log-keeping, records and bookkeeping, and to have proof and evidence concerning our relationship, should any legal issues arise after you discontinue use), all in accordance with our data retention policy. Except as required by applicable law or our specific agreements with you, we will not be obligated to retain your Personal Information for any particular period, and we may securely delete it or restrict access to it for any reason and at any time, with or without notice to you. DATA SECURITY

We use appropriate technological and operational security measures to protect your information against any unauthorized access to or unlawful use. To help prevent unauthorized access to your account and Personal Information, you should take care to protect your login credentials (e.g., user name, password, and/or other appropriate security code). In addition, we maintain your Personal Information on a secure server. When you enter sensitive information on registration forms, for example, that information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect Personal Information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Services or other websites or applications.
